Introducing a new beginning.
Her story is about to change
A lack of land ownership and exclusion from decision-making processes—stemming from limited financial resources—keeps women from realizing their full potential.
Although 36% of women globally work in agrifood systems, with figures as high as 71% in southern Asia and 66% in sub-Saharan Africa, they own only 10-20% of the land.
Women face significant challenges in their pursuit of land ownership and expanding their farming operations
Women farmers work tirelessly to produce food, yet many are locked out of fair markets. Payments often go through intermediaries who exploit the system, leaving them with little to no profit.
Without direct earnings, they struggle to invest in better inputs, expand their farms, or break free from economic dependence.
Here is what the women in Malkia Wa Shamba Groups say.
“"For years, I worked tirelessly on farms I did not own. Through MazaoHub’s lease-to-own model, I now cultivate my own land. I’m on my way to full ownership, and for the first time, I have financial security for my family."”
“"I used to rely on brokers to sell my crops, and they always took a big cut of my earnings. Now, with MazaoHub’s direct market access, my payments go straight into my mobile wallet—secure, fair, and empowering."”
“I never realized how much better my farm could perform until I got my soil tested and followed precision farming techniques. My yields have doubled, and I now invest my profits into growing my agribusiness.”
“I always sought agronomy services, relying on knowledge passed down by my parents. However, not all methods worked, so I kept switching from one approach to another but now, I have a reliable place to turn to for expert advice, and I get frequent farm visits.”
